AHHHHHH TESTS! They can be a scary thing especially if you are not a great test taker. Tests can also be an amazing thing when you are prepared for them. So how do I fully prepare myself to ace the test? Here’s how:

  • Everyone is different. Find the method that works best for you—you’re study space, flashcards or note taking, music or not, etc.
  • DON’T do all your studying the night before the test. Instead space out your studying, review a little bit each day, focusing on one topic at a time.
  • Have all of your study material in front of you: class notes, textbook, study guides, or anything else you might need.
  • Find a comfortable and quiet place to study with little distractions (don’t use your bed- you might fall asleep).
  • Learn the big ideas first and focus on the small details later.
  • Take notes and write down important ideas as you are in class or reading your textbook.
  • Give yourself breaks! You live in Colorado—go take a walk outside.
  • Make study groups to challenge each other on the material.
  • Test yourself or have someone quiz you to see where you at for the test.
  • Listen to some music- takes away the boredom from studying!
  • Lastly, believe that you’re going to crush it! (Cause I know you will)
